Hello everyone. I just wandered across this board. I have only seen one episode of House. I was told to watch it by a friend of mine who said I remind her of Dr.House. So, I suppose it is true I tend to piss people off. So, if I do that here just over look it or at least tell me. I do share two things in common with Dr. House and if anyone wants to know just ask and I will tell them. I prefer PM rather than just posting personal things all over the board. Something about me, I'm 38 years old and a doctor in real life. That's pretty much it.

Hello there! Welcome to my humble proboard! If you also like Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic, there's also a section for that, if not, no pain here.
Welcome again and enjoy your stay! If you want to help this place out, check out the Board Wide Project thread, we could use your help.
Enjoy your stay!!!

Thank you for the welcome Conrad. I will deffinatly check out the Board Wide Project thread and see if I can help with anything. Also, since I forgot in my introduction my name is Alan. I forgot that in my earlier post. I had alot on my mind. I think I gave myself a headache or at least a nurse I work with did.
As far as Star Wars and Knights of the Old Republic I haven't gotten into it yet. But, at least I've seen House once so I'm not completely out of my league so to speak. I think I joined this board to learn more about House and possibly have someone to talk to.

I'm glad I'll fit in fine. I tend to not fit in, but I really don't care alot of the time. I have a question and since I'm not sure where to post it I'll just post it here and see what happens. Is there anywhere online that I can watch any episodes of House? Like youtube or something? I'm not sure if there is a place and I figured I'd ask you all. I have currently only seen two episodes of House and would like to catch up. Also, if anyone has any House information and wants to pass it along feel free to tell me here or PM.

Well we can't really post episodes of House up here (I really don't want to be sued.) however I can recommend you a site that I use out here from the FOX network. Its the main thing for House out here in California. It has summaries, bios, clips, pictures, and a whole bunch of other House stuff. Its what I use if I need anything like that. Hello asurious. Nice to get to meet another person. I'm still sort of learning about House. Things have been going pretty bad at work lately. With any luck things will pull out of the gutter and I will have more time to research House.

Heh, its pretty easy to learn about House stuff, all you need to do is look and ask. I'm not really sure if that made sense...

Shesh, look and ask. That's how I learnt so much about it. Actually to be honest it was all from Mr Conrad.

Thank you both for the offer of help. I have actually ordered season 1 & 2 on DVD. I was curious though; Was House always crippled or did something happen in the show? I know that he was shot although I'm not sure when and I'm not completely sure why or anything actually. So, clarification is welcomed.

Heh, thanks Ghost... Anyhow House had a large blood clot in his leg (Can't remember the term.) and they had to remove most of his theigh and unfortunately except for bits and pieces of footage, you never actaully find out what happened to his leg.. He gets shot in the 2nd season finale. Some say it isn't the pain that causes his irrational (but correct. ) decisions, but his vicodin addiction. If you need anymore just let me know...I live for that kind of stuff. (I'm pathetic...I know...)

Thank you for the information. I have yet to watch season 1 or 2 due to a particular interesting case I am working on at the hospital. But, I'm going to assume that the blood clot in House's leg led to an infarction. Or at least that would be my best guess seeing as they removed the thigh muscle, unless there was bone death in which they would remove the femur or a portion of the femur to prevent infection. Given his ability to walk 50 feet and no apparent prosthetic device I'm going with my first idea until I'm told I'm wrong and then I'd be asking how. As for Vicodin being the cause of his irrational diagnosis I would say that is highly unlikely. Especially given the most common side effects of Vicodin. I could list them, but I may really bore everyone. Which, I probably already have. I guess I tend to analyze things to much. I do however realize that House is a work of fiction and that they probably do take some medical liberties. But, as you said Conrad I too live for this kind of stuff. I'm a little pathetic myself. Either that or I'm just a sad probably bored M.D. that specializes in parasites diagnostics. Anyhow, I will stop rambling now.
Ah, I actually thought of another question. You said that he was shot in the second season finale. Care to share about that to a man who is holed up in his office?

Yeah sure. One of House's patients killed herself because House revealed that her husband was having an affair. Well long story short, the husband wanted revenge. So as House wakes up several days later he has to share a room with the husband, deal with him, and solve a case in the same episode. IMO I think it shoud have been split into two episodes instead of "Euphoria" (Once you get through the 2nd season this should make more sense...) Nah, you don't over-analyze anything. To tell you the truth I've never had an actual MD on ANY board I've ever been on, which I find kind of cool! Feel free to ask anything you want, we're all here to help.

Thank you for the back story. That's interesting and a very true thing. Unfortunately what doctors tell patient's can be life or death in more ways than one. I can't wait to get to that episode. Season 2 got stuck in the mail. I just decided to pay the extra money instead of harp about it and probably never see the DVD. I do however have season 1. I just got a new DVD player and am deffinatly watching.
You refered to the episode "Euphoria". Was it a pretty good one? I take it that it's in two parts by your post.
Ah, I'm glad to hear that I don't over analyze things. I try not to. Really I'm the first M.D. you've had on a board? Wow, that is interesting. Hopefully I won't make a bad impression on all doctors. I suppose I'm not your average doctor. Especialy considering the fact that I am in a wheelchair in real life. Never drink and drive because you might hit a doctor and put him in a chair for the rest of his life.
Sorry about spewing all my personal backstory that you probably really didn't care about. I suppose I've just been in a weird mood lately.
If you ever have a question for me ask away. I charge 20 bucks per medical answer and only 10 for personal information.
